Advocacy 101

Learn about advocacy and where to get started.

What is advocacy?

Advocacy encompasses a range of activities that seek to build relationships and influence actions in Congress. It involves communicating with your elected officials to shape their priorities, including how they allocate funding.

The Global Ties Network and its supporters engage in advocacy in support of public diplomacy and international exchange programs.

Our member organizations from around the country have the power, as constituents, to educate and inform their Members of Congress about the importance of these programs for stronger alliances abroad, and stronger communities right here at home.

To learn more about what advocacy is, and how to get started, Global Ties Network members can access resources linked below.
